The customer called me to ask if there was anyway that I could repair four rotten casement windows as he couldn’t afford to replace them.
In each case the bottom rail had quite a bit of rot making it quite hard for the windows to open.
Firstly, I cut out all the rotten wood. Next, new pieces were spliced into the frame. This works well if there is enough good wood to fix the new pieces onto. Once done the windows were sanded back and repainted.
