The railings were steel and quite rusty in a few places to the extent that there were a few small holes that had to be filled. There were also a couple of decorative galvanised steel sections. All the loose rust and flaking paint had to be removed first before priming the railings. Two different primers are required one for the standard steel and one for the galvanised decorative sections.
